Dr Andrew Hart - President PSGBI 2015
|Dr Andrew Hart is a senior lecturer in gastroenterology at The Norwich Medical School and honorary consultant at The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. His main clinical interests are in the diagnosis and management of patients with pancreatic cancer and pancreatic cysts. Dr Hart is conducting observational aetiological studies into the effects of both diet and medications in the aetiology of cancers of the upper gastrointestinal tract to help develop preventive measures. The findings are being assessed in randomised controlled trials in patients to assess novel treatments.
During his year as President of the Pancreatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland he is involved in developing a curriculum for specialist registrar training in medical pancreatology. This includes: education in the management of patients with acute and chronic pancreatitis, supportive therapies for patients with pancreatic cancer, cyst management and specialist endoscopic techniques such as EUS and ERCP
